The old 62 m² flat was transformed into a true work of art: take a look at the before-and-after renovation photos — the result is simply stunning

When Anna and Markos decided to renovate their old flat, they expected a fresh coat of paint—but what followed was a journey of emotional rediscovery. From a mysterious handwoven tapestry to secret color choices inspired by personal memories, each room hides a story. Step inside a home where design, art, and soul collide in unexpected ways…

Daria Blokhina never imagined that her handcrafted tapestry would become the beating heart of an entire interior. But that’s exactly what happened. When Anna and Markos consulted a specialist to breathe new life into their old apartment, it was Daria’s woven masterpiece that not only adorned the wall but defined the soul of the home.

In the beginning, the atmosphere of the house felt dull and lifeless. But once artists like Daria and ceramicist Anna Mamaladze were brought into the picture, everything transformed. From the living room to the bathroom, every space was infused with purpose and spirit.

One of the main walls was painted in deep teal, perfectly complementing the mustard-yellow sofa, evoking a cozy, warm feeling.

The wall across was covered with a daring geometric wallpaper, injecting energy and rhythm into the space. The kitchen, meanwhile, became a bold statement — turquoise cabinet fronts stood out vividly against the light countertops and furnishings.

Anna recalls choosing that color because it reminded them of a summer trip to Scandinavia, where muted tones and vibrant accents coexist in harmony.

Markos, a longtime fan of mid-century design, suggested incorporating a 1950s-inspired TV cabinet. Adorned with delicate ceramic pieces by Anna Mamaladze, it became a visual bridge between modern flair and vintage charm. Every item was chosen with care, each with a story of its own.

In the bedroom, vivid textiles and a colorful headboard created a playful, uplifting mood. A painting titled “Time”, designed by their interior artist, became the soul of the space. Bold and emotive, it added depth and reflection to their private retreat.

The bathroom was divided by a sleek glass wall, separating the black-and-white toilet zone from the lighter, spa-like bathtub area. The balance between contrast and calm made it a space of serenity and clarity.

Throughout the home, thoughtful choices shaped a narrative. It wasn’t just an apartment anymore — it became a living diary of memories. And on the wall, Daria’s tapestry whispered softly: Home is where your stories live.
